About the role

An opportunity exists for an HR Generalist with core responsibilities as the compliance and benefits administrator and payroll processor. The HR Generalist also provides excellent customer service, reporting and compliance support. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for processing payroll on a semi-monthly basis, and assisting with any and all employee-related issues, e.g., disciplinary actions, FMLA, worker’s compensation, etc. The HR Generalist will also manage the end-to-end recruitment process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis.

  • Manage deductions to personnel profiles on the payroll system, ensuring accuracy. ● Serve as one of the primary contacts for internal team member requests related to payroll profiles, PTO accruals, FMLA requests and planning, etc.

  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, QMCSOs, distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing. Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records.

  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of vouchers for payment of administrative fees for all group plans.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience.

  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products including advanced Excel knowledge.

  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects

  • simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of HR-related tasks.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Previous experience in full-cycle recruitment.

  • Experienced with conducting and managing internal and external audits.

  • Previous experience processing payroll with knowledge of payroll systems.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
