The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is looking for a part time (80%) Dental Assistant to join our Prosthodontics department! No Prosthodontic experience? --- No Problem! Duties

·         Chairside assisting, prosthodontics.

·         Make radiographs.

·         Assist in lab duties, make alginate impressions, custom trays, record bases, and bleaching trays.

·         Set up clinical trays for faculty and residents.

·         Instruct residents on material use.

·         Explain clinical operation policies and procedures to students, grads, and faculty.

·         Inventory control.

·         Maintain asepsis control.

·         Digital device setup and maintenance.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Dental Assistant (80%) – GC25 (Merit)

College of Dentistry – Prosthodontics

Dental Science Building (Iowa City, IA)

Salary:  $37,283.33 (Pay Grade: 08)

Schedule:  32 hours per week: To be determined between the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday – Friday

                   May require occasional overtime as needed.

An advanced starting salary may be possible based on exceptional qualifications.

 

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Successful completion of a CODA accredited dental assistance program or one-year full time equivalency in chairside assistant experience assisting in four-handed method of dentistry.

2.     Must have a current certificate of registration to practice as a dental assistant issued by the Iowa Board of Dental Examiners. (QDA)

3.     Must possess current Iowa certificate of proficiency in dental radiography. (QDA)

4.     No additional work experience beyond the requirements for this position.

5.     May require Expanded Functions (EF-1 and/or EF-2) based on specific needs assigned by provider.
