What You Will Do:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the optimization and enhancement of Cerner EMR systems and revenue cycle operations for our client organizations. This pivotal role requires a strong background in healthcare systems, project management, and process automation to drive improvements in clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Reporting to the Account Executive, you will spearhead cross-functional initiatives to maximize EMR functionality, streamline workflows, and support the delivery of high-quality care.

This full-time position requires a blend of on-site, remote, and travel-based work, with responsibilities spanning system implementation, claim scrubbing, compliance, training, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Collaborate with IT, clinical, billing, and administrative teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely completion of milestones.

  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep initiatives on track.

  • Lead Cerner EMR implementation, maintenance, and optimization projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

System Implementation and Upgrades

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Cerner EMR deployments, upgrades, integrations, and system enhancements.

  • Oversee configuration, testing, and go-live planning in partnership with client and Guidehouse teams.

  • Coordinate seamless data migration and system transitions while maintaining system stability and compliance.

Revenue Cycle and Claims Management

  • Partner with revenue cycle teams to optimize billing workflows, claims processing, and denial management.

  • Validate claims for coding accuracy, compliance, and payer-specific requirements using tools like FinThrive Claim Scrubber.

  • Implement automated claim edits to reduce manual intervention and denial rates.

Clinical and Financial Alignment

  • Collaborate with clinical leaders to ensure Cerner EMR supports patient safety and quality care delivery.

  • Design tools and processes for tracking patient outcomes and financial performance metrics.

  • Utilize data analytics to drive insights and improve operational efficiency.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure Cerner EMR and revenue cycle operations comply with HIPAA, CMS, and other regulatory standards.

  • Monitor data security measures to protect patient information and address potential risks.

  • Implement corrective actions for audit findings and enforce compliance protocols.

User Support and Training

  • Develop comprehensive training programs for clinical and administrative staff to enhance system adoption.

  • Establish user support systems to resolve issues and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Create resources and documentation to streamline troubleshooting and onboarding.

Automation and Optimization

  • Leverage automation tools to enhance EMR and claims processes, reducing manual tasks and inefficiencies.

  • Customize Cerner EMR modules and templates to align with stakeholder needs and best practices.

  • Identify and implement interoperability features to integrate Cerner with other systems, such as labs, radiology, and billing.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system performance, claims accuracy, and user satisfaction.

  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to execute Cerner EMR and revenue cycle initiatives.

  • Function as a liaison between leadership, end-users, and technical teams to ensure effective communication.

  • Foster a patient- and customer-centric environment by aligning safety and quality goals with organizational priorities.

Vendor Management

  • Oversee relationships with revenue cycle vendors, including contract negotiation performance evaluations, Reconciliation, and compliance monitoring.
