Job Description
The Banking Assistant (“BA”) Associate position was created for individuals who are interested in assuming greater responsibilities and working in a fast paced environment. The Associate BA’s primary responsibility will be to provide research and administrative support to other analysts on the team and other Bankers within the firm. As an Associate BA, they will work on research projects for the bankers and any additional challenging opportunities they wish to be involved in. Working alongside a group of junior-level bankers allows BA’s constant exposure to the ‘behind the scenes’ perspective of the investment banking industry.
Shift: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm
Research Responsibilities:
- General company and industry information gathering
- SEC filings, and specific documentation within these filings
- Research for creating company specific and industry reports
- News runs
- Bloomberg information requests
- M&A deal specific information and statistics
- Stock ownership runs
- Secondary research for financial data and statistical information on companies and industries
- SDC analysis (premium paid and fee analysis)
- Creating Public Information Books (PIBs)
Qualifications
Skills
- As the position requires regular and frequent interaction with bankers of all levels across the firm, the candidate should be comfortable with communicating with a wide range of employees
- Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changing business needs
- Conscientious and hard working
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite – Excel, PPT, Word, etc.) Salesforce.com is a plus
Background/Qualifications:
- New York based Hours
- Bachelors Degree (business/accounting major preferred from nationally accredited university)
- BA/CA with about 1-2 years of experience in financial research and analysis. Experience in working with financial services and related organizations including brokerage firms, third party research outfits, investment banks, private equity firms, corporate finance firms, etc.
- Good understanding of reading financial statements, interpreting analyst transcripts and guidance coming from top management of corporations
- Experience in access and use of public information and proficiency with multiple proprietary
third-party tools and databases - Excellent quantitative analytical skills and experience
- Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc

Additional Information
The national pay range for this role is $51,200 to $83,600 annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
