JOB SUMMARY
Position is responsible for coordinating, with both prospective and current J-1 physicians, the Exchange Visitor Program (EVP) and sponsorship application process and to ensure timely submission of accurate and complete documentation, including primary-source verification of the graduate medical education contract on behalf of UTSW. Position will coordinate with UTSW Graduate Medical Education (GME), the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and J-1 physicians to ensure that UTSW and its J-1 trainees comply with federal requirements for participation.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Associate's Degree
- Experience
2 years of work experience as it pertains to Exchange Visitors (EV) J-1 physicians, Graduate Medical Education, or relevant work experience.
May consider additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience
2 years experience working with international J-1 physician visa holders in a healthcare setting.
JOB DUTIES
- Manages EVP and Exchange Visitor (EV) J-1 physician information in ECFMG‿s on-line portal.
- Coordinates with GME to submit initial and continuation sponsorship applications.
- Monitors and provide reporting on J-1 physician arrival, delay in training start date and/or change in approved training plan and/or contract.
- Completes and submit an incident report on incidents impacting the health, safety, or welfare of J-1 physicians or their J-2 dependents and including any potential litigation or newsworthy event or allegations.
- Provides timely reporting to ECFMG of J-1 physician complaints or concerns.
- Provides timely reporting to ECFMG of any change in the status of UTSW training program that may impact the training of J-1 physicians.
- Complies with all reporting and survey requests initiated by Department of State (DoS) or ECFMG.
- Distributes original form DS-2019 to the J-1 physician and maintain DS-2019 files.
- Coordinates with ESL Training Specialist and Relocations Coordinator on visa holder training requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
