As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of Test Stand Build and Integration Technicians, you will support the build, fabrication, assembly, and integration of new test stands and upgrades to existing test stands for both engine and component test facilities. You will demonstrate operational excellence in the fabrication and integration for new test capabilities as well as reviewing, improving, and following procedures and processes. Working with Shift Lead, Ground System Development Engineers, and the Build Manager on executing daily scheduled tasks. You will safely work with hazardous chemicals and high-pressure fluid systems. Finally, you will identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety, achieve cost-savings, and make test stand builds more streamlined. Being at the heart of Blue Origin operations, the West Texas Site in Van Horn, TX offers eligible employee’s additional attractive financial incentives to supplement their competitive base earnings, including a living allowance and relocation assistance. Eligibility for these additional benefits is based on the employee’s ability to relocate to Van Horn, TX.

• Shifts: Mon-Fri (8-hr shifts) | 8 on/6 off (10-hr shifts) | 16 on/12 off (10hr shifts)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Build of test stand sub-assemblies (e.g. pneumatic panels)

• Integration of the sub-assemblies and components to the fielded test stand.

• Work with Ground System Development engineering to execute the daily schedule based on the two-week forecast and construction schedules.

• Fabrication (tube bending) and routing of tubing.

• GTAW/GMAW, Orbital Tube Welding (OTW), light fabrication stands/structures

• Installation and checkout of wire harnesses electrical components and instrumentation

• Reviewing work instructions for accuracy and providing feedback to Build Engineers

• Provide feedback to engineers on design concepts/improvements and ground system development

• Safely working with hazardous chemicals, cryogenics, and high-pressure systems

• Understanding of 5S and FOD control procedures and Quality Management System (AS9100)

• Overseeing external contractor work to ensure safe and competent completion of work scope to workmanship and technical standards.

• Lead pre-task briefings for work tasks.

• Maintain the highest standards and work practices for all work being performed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years with hands-on experience in fabrication, build, and/or integration of hardware in a related industry (e.g. aerospace, aviation, military, oil and gas, nuclear).

• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work varying work schedules and shifts.

• Attention to Detail and focus on Safety and Quality (High Workmanship standards)

• Strong character and work ethic.
