POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Safety Professional is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs across operational environments. This role provides expert-level guidance in the review of complex safety deliverables, supports regulatory compliance, and mentors junior safety staff. The Senior Safety Professional plays a critical role in conducting safety assessments, facilitating training programs, and overseeing field inspections and incident investigations. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams to proactively identify risks, implement controls, and promote a culture of safety excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the creation, review, and implementation of safety plans, procedures, and technical deliverables.

Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to junior safety professionals.

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.

Participate in and lead high-level safety reviews, including those related to operational risk and complex processes.

Plan and deliver targeted training on safety practices, regulatory updates, and hazard mitigation.

Conduct and document site inspections, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses for incidents.

Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce risks and enhance safety performance.

Collaborate with project teams, engineering, operations, and leadership to integrate safety into all phases of work.

Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in safety management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of progressive safety experience, including field-based safety roles.

Experience in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
