A Day in the Life

The person in this role will work from the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota. The individual in this role may follow a hybrid schedule, working three days per working week from the office, and two days per week remotely (from home).

The Product Connectivity Solutions team builds and supports critical technologies that enable Medtronic’s medical devices to connect in hospital and home environments. This role will provide leadership to our team of software engineers and technologists to ensure the delivery and operation of high-quality products in the IoT and security space. As a member of the Product Connectivity Solutions team, you will work across organizational boundaries to lead platforms that allow the us to support global R&D efforts across a wide variety of medical devices.

  • Provides leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management.
  • Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
  • Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.
  • Usually requires subject matter knowledge of user group for practical application of system characteristics.
  • Coordinates delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Lead and mentor our software engineering team to achieve strong organizational performance, grow and manage individual talent, and advance our technology strategy.
  • Drive product delivery across multiple initiatives and oversee the results of a collaborative team
  • Drive continuous improvement mindset for the organization to achieve quality, speed and innovation.
  • Frequent contact with managers and operating unit representatives concerning projects, operational decisions and scheduling requirements. Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives.
  • Partner with software and R&D teams to drive delivery of products and solutions
  • Select, develop and evaluate team members to ensure the efficient operation of a growing team
  • People management responsibilities include 1:1’s, goal setting, and performance reviews

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
