Go-To-Market (GTM) Compensation Strategy and Incentive Design
Okta’s Go-To-Market (GTM) Compensation Strategy and Incentive Design team plays a critical role in the development and implementation of variable incentive compensation designs across all GTM functions. The team is responsible for driving the compensation plan design, implementation, and assessment of variable pay participants across Okta while delivering compensation plans that ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the GTM organization.
Manager, GTM Compensation Analytics
This individual contributor role is an experienced Compensation Analytics Manager/Sr. Manager who will be a thought partner reporting to the Director of GTM Incentive Design & Strategy. This role provides recommendations and implementation of compensation analytics solutions for employees on a commission plan, cost modeling, performance and attainment analysis through a deep understanding of data visualization and applied data science to convey insightful analytics. You will work closely with Go-To-Market Leadership, Sales Operations, Finance, and Data Teams. This individual will work across the GTM Ops team to empower Okta's growth through analytics and insights that enable scalable Incentive Plans and best in class compensation reporting.
What you’ll be doing
- Design and implement compensation analytics and reports that align with the company's strategic goals and values. Support a high-performance culture by partnering strategically with our leadership team.
- Oversee the administration of all incentive compensation reporting and analytics to ensure timely and accurate payment of incentives, adhering to design governance. This includes attainment and earnings reports, predictive cost modeling, data validation and reconciliation, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Serve as a data & business process SME demonstrating knowledge surrounding Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) systems, our upstream financial reporting and CRM systems, and downstream BI and reporting capabilities.
- Develop and document data and business process flows. Identify efficiencies to support end-to-end automation, provide requirements and recommendations for ICM Analytics configuration changes, and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to commissions.
- Develop cost models, scenario analyses, and insights into our Incentive Plan design and Sales Performance by synthesizing information from various sources. Assist leadership in interpreting findings to make informed decisions and continuously enhance dashboard visualizations.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key business partners within GTM Operations, Commission Operations, Finance, and Sales.
What you’ll bring to the role
- 8-10+ years of experience in BI reporting, Sales Ops, Sales Compensation, Finance, Business Analysis, or knowledge transferable function.
- 5+ years experience in Data Engineering, SQL Development, and Programming using a variety of databases (e.g Snowflake)
- 3+ years experience designing and/or configuring BI & reporting capabilities within Sales Compensation, ICM and other interdependent data systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, Math (or a related field) is required for this role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal oversight, using discretion, experience and data to make strategic recommendations to the business.
- Works in a proactive and collaborative manner to drive efficiency - eliminating manual processes where possible.
- Strong data visualization & communication skills and ability to effectively influence VP level stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
