- Conduct market research and rate trend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and inform negotiation strategies.
Stakeholder Influence & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build credibility with operations, finance, legal, and commercial teams by delivering clear, data-backed recommendations and business cases.
- Lead cross-functional discussions to align procurement decisions with operational realities and commercial objectives.
- Present sourcing strategies, cost analysis, and performance updates to senior leadership in a concise, impactful manner.
- Influence decision-making at multiple levels without direct reporting authority.
Carrier Compliance & Supplier Management

- Negotiate rates, terms, and service commitments that balance cost efficiency with service reliability.
- Manage ongoing supplier performance reviews and corrective action plans when required.
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
- Identify potential service, cost, or compliance risks and develop contingency solutions to mitigate disruptions.
- Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve sourcing efficiency, supplier performance, and cost management.
- Stay current on market conditions, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to strengthen procurement strategy.
- Awareness of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement frameworks for cargo movements. (Nice to have)
