Position Summary

Clinical Laboratory Technologist I :

• Works under general supervision and is responsible for complex laboratory procedures and handling all types of specimens submitted to the department for processing tasks assigned (Entry Level).

Clinical Laboratory Technologist II:

• Works under minimal supervision and consistently and accurately performs either a greater number of multiplex tasks than a Clinical Laboratory Technologist I (Intermediate level).

Clinical Laboratory Technologist III:

• The Clinical Laboratory Technologist III works under little or no supervision and consistently and accurately performs either a greater number or more varied amount of complex or difficult tasks and assignments than the work performed by a Clinical Laboratory Technologist II (Experience Level).

Responsibilities

Technologist I:

• Performs clinical laboratory tests proficiently with supervision and exercises independent judgment in the specialty assigned
• Follows the lab procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintains accurate and complete records of all testing performed on-site
• Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing, prepares for testing and identifies specimen related problems according to established SOP guidelines.
