Job Title: Coordinator, Legal Affairs (Temp)
A little bit about our team:
As part of the Global Catalog Business and Legal Affairs team, the Legal Department is responsible for enforcing WMG’s rights in the recorded music catalog repertoire controlled by its U.S. record labels, managing litigations involving WMG’s recorded music rights in conjunction with WMG’s corporate litigation in-house counsel, fielding inquiries and claims from third parties, researching WMG’s recorded music catalog rights, filing applications to register copyrights in and to WMG’s recorded music repertoire, and managing WMG’s relationships with the labor unions with which WMG’s U.S. record labels have collective bargaining agreements.
Members of the Legal Department work closely with employees in the Business Affairs, Finance, Production, Operations, New Media, and Marketing departments of each label client to fulfill the above-referenced responsibilities for the recordings and records those labels release.
Your role:
This position will provide administrative support to the Global Catalog Legal Affairs Team. Here you will collaborate closely daily with the Global Catalog attorneys You will carry out standard and confidential administrative and clerical duties. As a Global Catalog Business and Legal Affairs Coordinator, this role will deal predominantly with WMG’s catalog repertoire and the Rhino label. Please note that this role will end after September 30, 2024.
Here you’ll get to:
Scan and collate documents, answer and screen incoming calls, etc.
Field, track and route incoming correspondence
Maintain filing system
Draft and distribute internal and external correspondence
Draft letters of direction for payee changes from recording artists, producers, and other third party royalty participants and their representatives
Research royalties information and contract terms
Prepare documents for contract execution and post-execution handling
Provide general support to the Legal Affairs team including administrative tasks
Perform other similar tasks as requested, and handle other special projects as needed
About you:
Bachelor’s degree required
Knowledgeable of general business practices and music industry trends
Possess a strong work ethic; excellent organization skills and focused attention to detail
Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace
Demonstrate a high level of customer service and phone etiquette for both internal and external clients
Excellent written communication and social skills
Handle confidential matters appropriately and with discretion
Team player who is able to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain a standard of excellence

1-3 years of relevant music industry experience
