The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) Program is ready to hire a Medical Assistant to join our team.
We are looking for compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable individuals who are committed to supporting the physical and emotional well-being of unaccompanied minors in our care.
In this role, you will work closely with medical and case management teams to provide timely and trauma-informed medical support to youth in our licensed shelter program. A typical day may involve conducting intake health screenings, obtaining and recording vital signs, assisting with immunization tracking, coordinating outside medical appointments, and ensuring medical documentation is complete and up to ORR standards. You will also provide logistical support for follow-ups, assist with medication management under supervision, and help create a welcoming and safe environment for youth during medical visits.
Qualifications
To be considered you must have:

A High School Diploma or GED
-
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program

Current CPR/First Aid certification
-
At least 1 year of medical assistant experience, ideally in a pediatric or adolescent setting

Strong communication and cultural sensitivity skills
-
Experience working with diverse populations, especially immigrant or refugee youth

Proficiency with documentation and electronic health records (EHR)

A valid Arizona Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation

A clean five-year motor vehicle history
-
A level one fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain one prior to employment

Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
You are a star candidate if you have the above, and:

Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or RMA)

Experience in a shelter, group home, or behavioral health setting

Understanding of trauma-informed care practices

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Familiarity with ORR requirements and documentation processes
