Job Description
The Production Services Manager will lead and drive the support function of operation through job change, IS maintenance and mold maintenance, to ensure that the equipment is fit for purpose through disciplined maintenance activities.
The Production Services Manager should have:
- Basic understanding of glass chemistry and furnace operations
- General understanding of how mould equipment is repaired, designed, and other critical components of the moulds, blanks, and variables as it applies to making the glass containers including knowledge on equipment revisions.
- Good understanding of glass conditioning from the refiner out to the spout.
- Good foundation of the mechanical/electrical operation of the feeder/shear mechanism/IS machine/bottle conveyor/transfer mechanism/and stacker.
- Strong leadership, team building, and problem solving skills.
- Strong understanding of 5 S application, how to use data from the floor to solve issues, and OIS structured meetings for Tier l, ll, lll.
- Good networking skills.
- A positive approach/work well with others/understand job descriptions as outlined in MOE.
The Production Services Manager will:
- Ensure that all company policy, legislative, safety, environmental, and quality standards are implemented and adhered to by all team members.
- Ensure all job change activities for the plant are managed including the scheduling and execution of planned maintenance to ensure optimum utilization of resources in the hot end and cold end.
- Ensure there is a continuous improvement focus within the job change activities utilizing lean principles to drive out waste and improve the overall performance of the job change process.
- Ensure all aspects of mold maintenance are disciplined to supply mold equipment on time, fit for purpose, aligned with APAC mold standards and achieved at or better than budgetary levels.
- Ensure IS maintenance are proactive in planned maintenance to ensure the IS machines are fit for purpose while looking at every opportunity for cost reduction without jeopardizing business expectations for machine up time from a mechanical perspective.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Must have 10 years of forming experience (excluding hourly positions)
- Must have demonstrated good work performance and a record of growing knowledge of the forming process

What we offer at O-I:
Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $160,000 and includes a possible 15% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
