About the role
The Temporary Designer creates visual solutions to communicate the firm’s brand and key messages. The incumbent applies design background and commercial awareness to conceptualize and design various media and formats while upholding the firm brand identity and design guidelines. Note: this is a temporary position for 3 months.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Reports directly and collaborates with the Creative Design Manager in developing design solutions in any media and format.
- Work will include digital creative including PDF, email, PPT, Word designs, as well as online and print advertisements, work with branded merchandise, posters, etc.
- Works closely with members of the Marketing and Business Development department, other Administrative departments and partners on marketing projects that require design services.
- Designs projects that adhere to the firm’s branding/identity guidelines and key messaging; works seamlessly from initial concept to execution in various media and formats
- Provides excellent client service and responsiveness, communicates clearly and consistently, ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded in terms of quality, timing and budget.
Qualifications:
- Education: 4-year College degree required, preferably in graphic design or comparable field.
- Experience: 3+ years experience in graphic design, print and/or web or video production, preferably in the Marketing department of a law firm, large corporation/organization, advertising agency, or medium/large design firm.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be a creative thinker with acute sense of design, aesthetic eye, conceptual ability and intellectual curiosity as evidenced by portfolio of work.
- Be a driven and passionate designer possessing both awareness of visual arts trends and commercial savvy.
- Have solid experience designing corporate/organizational identity materials, with willingness and flexibility to take fresh approaches and be inventive.
- Thoughtful, bespoke, intuitive design style, and an eye for clean, photography-driven design strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and excellent verbal and written communication skills – and at all stages of technical/design experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of people and departments.
- Excellent project management, organization and planning abilities.
- Attendance: All positions require punctuality and regular attendance.
- Technology Skills:
- MAC & PC experience required
- Expert skills in Adobe Create Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere
- Expert skills in web design and eMarketing programs and tools, including Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro
- HTML and CSS experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with conventional and digital print processes.
The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.New York Salary Range$38—$43 USD
