As a key member of the General Ledger Accounting team, this role plays a critical part in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. The position is highly collaborative, requiring close partnership with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant results.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting operations, with demonstrated success in designing and implementing efficient processes. A solid understanding of technical accounting principles and the ability to apply them in practice. This leader will also be skilled in building, coaching, and inspiring a high-performing team to achieve excellence.

In addition, the candidate should have experience leveraging automation and AI tools to streamline accounting processes, and a strong interest in learning and applying new technologies to drive efficiency and innovation.

This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of three.
• Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Safeguard the integrity of key processes by evaluating systems, transaction flows, and internal controls, and recommending improvements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP requirements and adherence to SOX controls.
• Serve as a primary liaison with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and support for quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Technical Accounting & Reporting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Champion the adoption of automation and AI technologies to streamline accounting processes, leading initiatives that enhance scalability, efficiency, and accuracy across the close and reporting cycle.

 

We’d love to chat if you have:

• 8+ years of experience in auditing at public accounting firms and/or in accounting roles within public companies (tech industry experience preferred).
• 3+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective cross-functional partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience leveraging automation and AI tools to optimize accounting processes
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA is required
• Experience with NetSuite or Oracle is preferred
• Experience with Coupa and Blackline is a plus
