Who will you be working with?

Vapor Stone Rail Systems is a part of WABTEC Corp and has been in Plattsburgh NY since 1998. We offer a wide range of products and services for trains including HVAC units, Doors, Door systems along with an array of aftermarket parts and services.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the team at Vapor Stone Rail Systems, you will be responsible for daily warehouse duties to support the production team including cycle counts, picking parts, inventory control, shipping/receiving.

  • Experience in safely operating warehouse equipment is a must.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.
  • Computer experience with MS Office and MRP systems.
  • Ability to pick and stage material for work orders.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate system transaction or computer program.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving and warehouse components are a must
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
  • Assist/lead with the coordination of physical inventory counting.
  • Sweep, dust and mop.
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and with coworkers
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds over head.
  • Complete various types of transactions within the MRP system.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work on site and be able to stand at minimum 8 hours a day

What do we want to know about you?

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates should have knowledge of warehouse processes as mentioned above. You should also have basic computer skills including Microsoft office.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Inventory Control required
  • Material Handling/Warehouse experience required
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Organizational Skills
  • Computer Skills required
  • Technical Capacity
  • Time Management
  • Counting and basic math skills
  • Communication Skills

What will your typical day look like?

  • Working with team or self in our warehouses which includes 2 onsite as well as one off site location.

What about the physical demands of the job?

  •  Standing, bending, twisting for 8 hours per day
  •  Ability to lift 40lbs.
  •  Wearing PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, hard hat, bump cap cut resistant gloves at various times based on current project.
  • Safety glasses & steel/composite toe shoes are required for entirety of shift.
  • Must successfully pass initial and random drug screenings.
  • May require step stools or ladders.
