Responsibilities
We are seeking a Human-Centered Design (HCD) Lead Associate to help devise ways of measuring and improving the user experience. The successful person will have a strong understanding of design principles and be able to apply user-centered design methodologies to a wide range of products and services. The candidate should have a strong background in collaborating with stakeholders and end users to employ human-centered methods and activities to improve products, services and policies.
Responsibilities:
- Employ a human-centered perspective to explore a diverse range of behaviors, attitudes and mindsets to develop a deep understanding of emerging needs that will instigate the creation of novel solutions (products, services and business models).
- Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.
- Design, plan and conduct face-to-face engagements using human-centered principles to find qualitative understandings about the needs of the users.
- Design and conduct user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to understand the needs and behaviors of the target audience.
- Synthesize research findings to identify key insights and design opportunities
- Lead the processing of research materials, synthesis of insights, preparation and communication of research reports.
- Collaborate with our client, colleagues and outside partners to translate insights into provoking stories and potent strategies for innovative healthcare software products and services.
- Create user personas, user journeys, content inventories, and wireframes to propose and communicate design decisions with stakeholders and the integrated project team
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to visualize design concepts and interactions.
- Creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces and reports that enhance usability and the user experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, and product managers and end users, to understand user needs, goals, and pain points and ensure that the final product meets the needs of the end user.
- Conduct user testing to validate and iterate on design concepts
- Ensuring designs are accessible, responsive, and comply with industry standards and best practices.
- Iterate on designs using user feedback, usability testing results, and stakeholder input.
- Explore new processes and frameworks.
- Seek and create new methods that enable the discovery of latent needs, including development of best practices.
- Working closely with developers to implement design specifications and maintain design consistency across products and platforms.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ Years with a BS/BA; 3+ years with MS/MA
- U.S. person with the ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Deep understanding and experience of web technologies including user experience.
- Strong experience with developing wire frames
- Hands-on experience in servant leadership roles utilizing different methods and tools – Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, JIRA, Dynamics System Development Method (DSDM), TDD, etc.
- Knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC)
Desired Qualifications
- HCD Certification
- Hands-on experience in an Agile software development environment – SAFe is preferred.
- Experience working on Federal Healthcare programs

Target Salary Range
