WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We are looking for a highly dynamic and motivated colleague to join our team. We are on a mission to provide a state-of-the-art, inhouse developed, Operations Platform to BASF’s Production Plants and with that enable intensive digitalization in daily operations. We are focused on the development of Platform capabilities which make it possible to add new apps on the Production workplace and reach advanced levels of digitally assisted work processes. Our team also partners with several neighboring teams for Application product development to collaborate on an integrated platform solution. 

In this role, you will contribute to the development of a global, in-house developed full stack platform that integrates multiple domains of BASF’s manufacturing environment and successfully modernizes legacy systems. 

• As a full stack developer for the Operations Platform team, you will be part of a global, multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of an internal platform for global, daily use at BASF production facilities. 
• You will be part of an agile software development team, with responsibilities defined during sprint planning phases. You will be expected to deliver high quality, on time software packages based on your prior experiences with the same technology stack. 
• Your work packages may focus on front end or back end development based on your capabilities, ambitions, and the needs of the team. 
• You will develop yourself and others by learning from others on the team and coaching junior developers. As a team, you will participate in sprint retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities for yourself, the team, and the platform.  

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field 
• Minimum 3 years’ related working experience as a full-stack developer 
• Preferred 7+ years of Java experience if back-end development focus 
• Java / Spring Boot based back-end development experience 
• Angular and Javascript based front-end development experience  
• Knowledge of DevOps tools for development, release, and monitoring 
• Experience in issue identification, troubleshooting, and debugging skills 
• Working with microservices 
• Frontend: Single Spa, Webpack, Module Federation, Micro Frontend Architecture, Reactive Framework, library development, OpenAPI, MS Graph, OAuth 2.0/MSAL, Karma Test Runner 
• Backend: Unit Tests JUnit 5, H2 and Postgres, OpenAPI, Azure Services (Application Service, Key Vault, Storage Account, etc.) 
• DevOps: Azure Repos/Pipelines, Artifactory, Data Dog, SonarQube 
• Experience working in an agile scrum-based team 
• Experience learning independently and coaching others 
• Fluency in English
