Job Description Summary

This role serves as a strategic advisor to the Senior Director of the SMR business, overseeing operational activities across our product lines, driving continuous improvement through LEAN, and supporting the business by developing and leading initiatives to improve organizational performance and meet key business deliverables.

Examples of additional leadership activities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Establish and manage daily management operating rhythms for clarity and visibility of priorities and results
  • Represent the Advanced Nuclear Organization in key meetings with business leadership, as well as select meetings with clients or potential clients, covering issues of forecasting, planning, execution, and strategy alignment
  • Develop and oversee Lean action plans
  • Partner with GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Lean Leader and cross functional teams to drive continuous improvement through problem solving, kaizen, and standard work in order to achieve SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) KPI targets. Determine when kaizens will be most effective in resolving business challenges.  Develop and own annual kaizen plan. 
  • Partner with the Product Management team to ensure consistency and accuracy in the annual budget development process
  • Represent the P&L in coordination of the Long-Term Strategy planning and communication (ie presentations, memos) of deliverables
  • Develop and implement enhanced visual management to increase transparency, performance and delivery of customer value
  • Support optimization and business coordination across all functions, including Sales, Project Delivery, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and Licensing.
  • Drive excellence in our corrective action program
  • Support annual budget development, ensuring alignment with organizational goals


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering a related discipline OR Business related discipline, from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, project, program, or lean management
  • At least 5 years in a leadership position for the power generation industry.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Role is onsite in Wilmington, NC (relocation assistance available)
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 15% of the time
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Nuclear power generation industry experience
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and foster a positive culture across a large organization
  • Highly developed communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in transforming complex data into valuable strategic insights
  • Experience in establishing a vision and translating it into meaningful tasks and activities for others to execute
  • Skilled in navigating complexity, assessing situations, and making informed decisions
  • Ability to build consensus across numerous organizations
  • Strong financial acumen and accountability

The base pay range for this position is $153,800 to $240,000. USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday October 31st.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
