PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Specifies, selects, tests and implements automated solutions and processes.
• Predicts performance and supports the execution of the selected option.
• Delivers from proof-of-principle up to ready for production automation technologies.
• Lead the integration of automation technologies interacting with our IT departments and external vendors of the different factory systems.
• Implement various automated controls technologies including PLC systems, control and communication networks, SCADA (server and standalone) systems, PC based Integration software systems, VFD and servo drives, Robotics, vision systems, program and parameter-based instrumentation and other advanced sensor technologies.
• Effectively operates in a team environment including the ability to communicate effectively, to build collaborative relationships, and to contribute to a healthy team culture.
• Influences project direction based on analysis and understanding of project facts. Able to gather and analyze data in area of responsibility.
• Sets personal direction, manages multiple priorities, and grows personal knowledge and capability to deliver expected results and meet the business need.
•  Follows and leverages the proper engineering and project management tools and work processes.
• Actively seeks out cost reduction opportunities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Experience with cobot or robot applications in industrial environments, and/or other pick-and-place applications.
• Experience defining and writing requirements for automation solutions.
• Visions systems knowledge and experience are a plus, including ML/AI.
• Ideally, experience with systems integration at factory floor level for the operation of AGVs/AMRs and machine tendering (automation of feeding raw materials into production lines).
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) applications. This Includes distributed automation control applications, data archiving, automation software applications, virtual server control, application database and reporting tools. Knowledge of high-level programming languages is a plus.
• Seeks out knowledge and can quickly grasp technical concepts and grow personal expertise.
• Manages time effectively by understanding assignment requirements, prioritizing objectives, and scheduling tasks accordingly.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS

• Minimum B.S. in Engineering with preference for Robotics, Mechatronics ot Automation/Industrial Systems.
• >3 years of experience in a related field engineering position is desired.
• Similar CPG industry experience is a plus.
