Medical Scribe, Part Time

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED 
• One year clerical or office experience

The Successful Candidate will assume responsibility for a variety of functions, which include, but are not limited to:

• Accompanies the physician to medical exams, and reports in writing the patient's history, medications, physical examination, and patient orders that result from the visit.
• Records the results of ordered tests once returned by lab. Completes the chart by writing the discharge and follow-up instructions. 
• Verifies the chart for appropriate coding level. Reviews the chart and ensures it has been documented correctly for the designated code. 
• Ensures the physician reviews the chart for accuracy. Obtains physician's signature for each encounter. 
• Relays messages to the nursing staff, medical technicians, and/or the patient to expedite patient flow throughout the department. 
• Performs other related duties incidental to work described herein.
