Senior API Architect, Apigee

What does a successful Senior API Architect, Apigee, do at Fiserv do at Fiserv?

Join our dynamic team at Fiserv as a Senior API Architect, Apigee, and lead the evolution of our sophisticated API ecosystem. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring scalable, robust, and high-performing API interactions within our cutting-edge Azure-based environment. Be part of an innovative department where your expertise will drive efficiency and excellence.

What you will do:

• Analyze and optimize our API architecture to enhance performance and scalability
• Continuously improve API performance and manage scaling operations with us
• Implement and manage API gateways, ensuring effective traffic routing and API call management
• Design and enforce policies for throttling quotas, and user authentication
• Transform monolithic APIs into microservices, improving modularity and performance
• Lead the deployment and integration of microservices within our ecosystem
• Develop and execute strategies for database optimization to boost API performance
• Monitor API usage patterns, predict scaling needs, and implement strategies to handle peak loads

What you will need to have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in the complete API lifecycle using Apigee
• Over 8 years of experience in API development and architecture, specifically with REST frameworks and .NET
• Strong experience with Azure services and infrastructure
• Proven expertise in implementing and managing API gateways, with Apigee experience
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization technologies
• Hands-on experience with both on-premises and cloud versions of Apigee

What would be great to have:

• Certifications in Azure, Apigee, or related technologies
• Experience in handling high-traffic APIs and scaling large-scale web applications

Important info about this role:

• We’re better together! This role is fully on-site (all 5 days in the office) for the first 90 days and Monday through Thursday after that (Fridays can be optional)
• This is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options or unsolicited agency submissions will be considered
