JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization (OEC) is seeking to hire an intern for Fall 2024 to assist with a variety of entrepreneurship programs within the dynamic framework of Invent Penn State. This individual will report to the Associate Vice President of OEC.
This part-time position is responsible for supporting new and existing entrepreneurship programs through varied activities including administrative support, program data collection, online research, and working with cloud-based tools including Microsoft 365 Suite, Salesforce, Jira and Workfront. Projects supported include OEC’s initiatives and programs such as the Startup Leadership Network and Pipeline, Penn State’s network of Innovation Hubs and the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP).
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter possessing an entrepreneurial mindset, experienced or willing to learn online CRM and project management tools, detail- and process-oriented, able to question and volunteer insight, willing to be a team collaborator and learn from others, excellent with written and verbal communication, and able to set and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist with the planning and execution of cloud-based projects within the Office of Entrepreneurship & Commercialization, related to their area of expertise and study. The exact scope of the work may be customized to academic goals and desired learning outcomes.
Compensation for this position is $15.00 per hour. Interested applicants are required to submit a cover letter, a current resume, and one academic or professional reference. This is an in-person position with the potential to work a few remote hours each week.
