What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.  

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Experience can be a combination of design/engineering and field, start-up and commissioning.

  • Ability to multi-task in support of commissioning document development for multiple projects.

  • Knowledge of piping systems, pipe codes, components and materials of construction.

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures for piping and mechanical equipment.

  • Ensure piping systems are tested according to design specifications and industry standards.

  • ANSI, API and ASME.

  • Ability to interpret company Engineering Practices, Inspection and Test Plans and integrate them into commissioning plans.

  • Ability to develop and/or approve Inspection and Test Plans for coatings, piping, concrete and general mechanical equipment.

  • Create fabrication plans per M&R procedures for out-of-house fabricated piping. This includes the incorporation of company engineering practices and pipe codes, and B31.3 for NDE.

  • Review supplier drawings for MIQA concerns (weld maps, NDE callouts, etc.)

  • Develop pre-startup checklists/procedures for mechanical equipment.

  • Coordinate third-party inspection with procurement team. Experience performing and documenting Factory Acceptance Tests for OEM equipment and general fabrication inspections for out-of-house work.

  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the commissioning process, collaborating with relevant parties to find solutions.

  • Effectively communicate progress, status updates, and any issues to project team members.

  • Understanding of engineering principles, construction processes, and relevant industry standards.

  • Familiarity with construction activities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of a project team; from Management and Engineering to Maintenance and Construction.

Ideal Background

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.  Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Licensing: No licensing is required for this position.  

Experience: This position requires a minimum 5+ years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.

  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.

  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.
