We are looking for a Senior Underwriter, Natural Resources, based in Paris.

The Impact You Will Have 

 

Within the Natural Resources Underwriting Department of Allianz Commercial France, you will work as a Senior Underwriter in charge of the study and implementation of Natural Resources insurance solutions.

 

Based in Paris, your clients will be large broker firms and major players in the French engineering segment.

 

Your role will be to develop, negotiate, and underwrite insurance programs and project policies for major international clients. You will ensure the development and profitability of your portfolio and the follow-up of broker and client relationships in close coordination with the sales teams, engineering services, claims, and operations departments.
 
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

 

• Underwrite new and renewal business to meet profitability targets
• Underwrite following the natural resources governance framework e.g. Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, and Functional Rules
• Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at the time of creation
• Promote involvement of departments areas in the Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, and Operations 
• Manage referrals and undertake 4-eye reviews with underwriters across the Region
• Contribute to the development and execution of regional underwriting strategy
• Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers clients and other relevant stakeholders  
• Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

 

• Preferably, you have a degree either in Engineering/Natural Resources, economics, or other appropriate discipline
• You have experience underwriting profitable businesses in the natural resources segment of large corporate international insurance
• You have recognized relationships with clients and brokers at the peer group level and are well-established within the market
• You have a specialized understanding of regional/local natural resources insurance markets and competitor landscape
• You are capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
• You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory environment
• You can design, develop, and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts. 
• Strong communication skills in French and English.
