NCSES, a small organization with significant impact, conducts various surveys and produces congressionally mandated reports and publications that are vital to shaping policy and understanding trends in the Science and Engineering (S&E) landscape.

The Project Manager performs, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Organize and lead engagements with federal Senior Executives, leadership teams, and professional technical staff.
- Coordinate and manage major engagements with over 100 participants, as well as smaller working groups and panels.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, including schedules, performance metrics, and resource management strategies.
- Track project progress, manage constraints, and provide solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Ensure all project activities comply with federal contract regulations, NSF-specific policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate and manage communication across project teams, ensuring clarity, transparency, and effective collaboration.
- Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and other written documents using compatible applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) to meet NSF standards.
- Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including resolving conflicts effectively.
Qualifications:
- Current Project Management Professionalization (PMP®) Certification
- In-depth knowledge of the Evidence Act and federal data ecosystem, including familiarity with key data roles such as Statistical Official, Chief Data Officer, and Evaluation Officer.
- Understanding of federal agency Learning Agendas.
- At least 2 years of experience in organizing and managing engagements for federal Senior Executives and other leadership teams, as well as professional technical staff.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting large-scale engagements with more than 100 participants, in addition to managing smaller working groups and panels.
- At least 2 years of experience in project management, including the development of project plans, creation of schedules and performance metrics, management of resource constraints, and progress tracking.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of all pertinent federal contract regulations, NSF-specific policies, and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and resolve conflicts.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite of tools and Smartsheet
- The contractor must provide all written reports in electronic format, ensuring compatibility with NSF workstations (e.g., Microsoft Office applications).
