WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is an independent contractor responsible for the psychiatric oversight of residents (civil and forensic) in Level II Residential Treatment Facilities (RTFs).
- Patients may include those who are voluntary and competent, as well as those who have forensic involvement who are incompetent or not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI)
- Completion of initial and annual psychiatric evaluations.
- Completion of psychiatric medication management visits every other Monday only, on-site, including holidays, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day (alternate dates will be scheduled in advance for these two holidays).
- Visits will include tracking the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS)/Body Mass Index (BMI), along with other vitals as required.
- Available for psychiatric consultation by phone (i.e., verbal orders for changes) as needed, including after hours and holidays.
- Available to participate in monthly telephone supervision with the Medical Director.
- Work cohesively with Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and other members of the treatment team to ensure continuity of care.
- Completing paper and electronic progress notes and limited-service authorizations as required, reviewing and signing treatment plans as an active member of the treatment team.
- Order and review lab testing for clients as needed.
- Provide medication discharge orders/paperwork (i.e., Statement of Self-Preservation, Health Assessment, etc.) and prescriptions to prepare clients for discharge.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- $900 per visit - Part-time schedule, which requires every other Monday only.
- On-site location, only
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with an active Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license.
- An APRN must be authorized to provide these services in accordance with Chapter 464, F.S., and protocols filed with the Florida Board of Nursing.
- Previous experience working in a residential setting is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with co-occurring disorders and prescribing psychiatric medications is required
- Must obtain/maintain CPR/First Aid Certification.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogens and must wear PPE as required by the exposure control plan and safety protocols.
