About the role
Job Type: Full-Time, 40 hours.
Location: Newport News, Virginia.
Activity: Advanced manufacturing, maritime industrial base.
Key Responsabilities:
- Manage and supervise teams on-site to ensure the assembly and commissioning of machines, including technical support for machine assembly and adjustment
- Identify equipment malfunctions and propose assembly improvements
- Seek optimal performance of operations by developing a strategy for improving operational productivity and leveraging achieved productivity gains
- Organize, plan, direct, and control the activities of your department to ensure that achievements are consistent with internal or external requirements, especially those defined in the IMS
- Conduct analyses leading to the resolution of technical, organizational, and planning issues, including identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions and performance optimization
- Ensure compliance with safety rules for property and personnal
- Regularly update superiors on project status and other activities
- Establish, monitor, and enforce budgets
- Ensure the maintenance and development of personnel resources in order to meet departmental needs and provide team members with regular feedback and maintain strict confidentiality of all work materials
What you bring:
- Extensive mechanical assembly knowledge
- Experience performing technical support for machine assembly, including lifting and handling experience, mechanical erection process and order of operations, and solving mechanical assembly related issues
- Experience optimizing mechanical assembly processes
- Experience with mechanical systems troubleshooting; Experience with mechanical drawing interpretation
- Experience with hydraulic schematics and troubleshooting
- Fabrication process including order of sequence, welding, fit up/adjustments
- Experience with team leadership
- Experience with client relations and Safety knowledge including safety equipment
- Requires five years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar occupation
