The Account Consultant is responsible for selling DNB's products and services to new and/or existing clients by developing or expanding accounts, retaining existing business, and driving sales growth through client adoption. The Account Consultant is accountable for value driven engagements across the customer retention lifecycle resulting in client renewals.

Essential Key Responsibilities

  • Uses in-depth knowledge of client industry and/or business processes, deep knowledge of the product(s) being sold and technical expertise to drive and increase adoption and utilization and ensure a successful renewal
  • Contribute to revenue expansion and retention by identifying and addressing renewal risk and product adoption roadblocks as well as identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Monitor client usage data, health indicators, renewal dates, and growth opportunities and translate them into strategies for success
  • Works as a Trusted Advisor to provide strategic guidance and a path to value with clients
  • Maintain consistent & accurate data in SFDC to support territory and account planning
  • Utilize internal and external sales tools to identify new business opportunities, generate new leads, and qualify leads for advancement to a sales executive to close
  • Establish contacts through account mapping decision makers and decision influencers
  • Maintain and grow the revenue stream through renewal management, cross-sell and up-sell of new opportunities
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and maintain an active pipeline
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with clients by understanding their needs and business objectives. Fulfill the role of trusted advisor on Dun & Bradstreet solutions
  • Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of two (2) years of quota carrying sales and/or account management experience managing a portfolio of accounts
  • Excel at demonstrating proactive approach to managing sales opportunities and driving advancement
  • Excel at demonstrating the ability to develop client relationships with stakeholders at different levels to establish yourself as a trusted partner
  • Proven level of sophistication and competency in client support skills: handling objections, issue resolution, negotiation, active listening, and attention to detail.
  • Highly articulate with excellent business communication (verbal and written) skills and presentation skills suitable for a global corporate environment
  • Proven ability to advance leads and manage a pipeline
  • Possesses excellent salesforce experience, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint and MS-Word skills
