Doorperson/Bellperson (Full Time)

JOB OVERVIEW:
Greet guest at hotel entrance and assist guests with front door. Assist incoming and outgoing guest in transporting luggage to and from guest rooms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Returns
- Welcome all arriving guests; assist guests with front door and unloading luggage from vehicles. Alert management of any suspicious activities or characters.
- Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets, and services to guest and provide information to guests regarding local attractions and activities.
People
- Coordinate baggage handling with other bell-persons
- Assist with luggage handling as necessary.
- Promote team work and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
Guest Experience
- Assist departing guest with all luggage and transportation needs; invite departing guests back to the hotel and thank them for visiting.
- Promptly and safely transport luggage to and from guest rooms. May secure, tag and store luggage at guest’s request.
- Summon taxis, shuttle drivers, or valet parking attendants upon guest request; control traffic flow at hotel entrance.
- Respond appropriately to guest complaints. Inform supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances or dissatisfied guests.
Responsible Business
- Perform other duties as assigned such as ensuring the hotel entrance is free of litter and debris.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent, and one year guest service or doorperson/bellperson experience preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
This job requires ability to perform the following:
- Carrying, pushing or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Moving about the public areas
- Handling objects such as luggage
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
Other:
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with clients, guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing departmental records/logs, reading road signs, etc.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
