  FLSA: Exempt   Temporary/Continuing:  Continuing   Part-Time/Full-Time: Full-Time   Union Group: Ferris Faculty Association (MEA-NEA)   Term of Position: 9 Month   At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause   Summary of Position: The College of Engineering & Technology at Ferris State University seeks a diverse group of outstanding applicants for a 9-month, full-time, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor position within the Department of Construction Technology & Management. Primary responsibilities include teaching and advising students in a four-year BS Construction Management program (accredited by the American Council for Construction Education – ACCE) and its two-year AAS program – Building Construction Technology & Management. Teaching assignments will be from a wide range of construction technology and construction management topics.
• Candidates are expected to foster a meaningful learning experience for our students, faculty are expected to be student-oriented, advise, and integrate current technology into the learning environment.
• Additionally, faculty will participate in collaborative efforts to foster curricular efforts, participate in assessment of student learning, and further develop programmatic enhancement.
• Specifically, we expect the candidate to be willing to engage students outside the classroom, support and expand our existing academic initiatives, and be willing to mentor students beyond a traditional academic advising role.
• In support of teaching, candidates will engage in scholarly/professional activities and participate in department, college, and university committees.
• Off-campus and online teaching may be required.
• Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's Campuses. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
• Tenure awarded at a previous institution is required to be hired at the rank of Associate Professor.

The anticipated start date of this position is August 2026 at the earliest and January 2027 at the latest.   Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing   Required Education: 1. Master's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND five years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial). OR

2. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field AND an MBA plus eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility OR

3. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Architectural Engineering or appropriate related field and eight years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial) with increasing levels of responsibility. A Master's degree in field or an approved related field will be required prior to tenure.

If a candidate has a PhD in Construction Engineering or Construction Management, the Bachelor’s or Master's degree must be in Construction Engineering or Construction Management and five years full-time construction experience (commercial or industrial) is required.   Required Work Experience: Required work experience is based on degree attained. See Required Education field.

Minimum five years higher education teaching experience to include an award of tenure for rank of Associate Professor.

Higher level degree (PhD) in Construction Management or closely-related degree requires five years full-time US construction experience (commercial or industrial).
