The Laboratory Technician II directly supports vital research to find a cure for cancer. The laboratory focuses on developing novel Natural Killer cell therapies for solid tumors. The technician will work both independently and/or as a team member, they provide skilled capabilities to support the scope of research related functions that require a high degree of proficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform complex laboratory and research related tasks, which include immunologic in vitro assays, RIA, ELISA, western blots and mammalian cell culture.

• Perform in vivo studies in animal models as well as mouse colony management.

• Troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.

• Evaluate experiment results using statistical and multivariate analysis, acting as a specialist on laboratory or other research methods and equipment functions.

• Perform unsupervised library research of collections of data, organization, processing, and analysis.

• Assist with data interpretation including manuscript preparation.

• Perform database entry, sample tracking, and review and documentation of detailed information interpretation.

Work Interactions

The Laboratory Technician II will report to the Lab Director/Principal Investigator, the Research Technician 1, and work with investigators on extending current acquisition and analysis techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 2 to 3 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with investigators

• Ability to use measurable and verifiable information for making decisions or judgements

• Ability to work as part of a team and to use a consultative approach to resolve issues in area of responsibility

• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to assist in the preparation of technical produces and reports

• Ability to maintain good record keeping with an aptitude for learning new techniques
