Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant is expected to provide wide-ranging support and assistance with accountancy tasks, including, but not limited to, maintaining and reviewing general ledger accounts, journal entries, balance sheet accounts reconciliations, research, and analysis. The individual is expected to assist with the annual financial audit and contribute to the development of new accounting policies and controls.
The qualified individual should have previous experience of working in a finance or accounting department in a business environment and should understand accounting processes and principles. The individual should have good reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate well with others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform period close tasks, including, but not limited to, monthly sales reclassification, accruals, and journal entries.
• Evaluate leases for the new lease 842 standard, making any necessary journal entries and ensuring that all coding is correct for expense and balance sheets.
• Calculate monthly commissions and get payment details to AP for payments, collaborating as necessary with brokers on statements and with the Sales and Legal departments on contracts, amendments, and terminations.
• Review and monitor balance sheet reconciliations, liaising with Controllers as needed.
• Run and review the sales balancing report to check and monitor invoicing a number of times each week.
• Develop solid working relationships with coworkers and support all other stakeholders as required.
• Assist with the annual financial audit and liaise with Controllers on audit requests and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
