Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility that is dedicated to providing world class care through advanced specialty care, primary care and surgical services.
Certified CS/SPD Technicians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining surgical tools and hospital equipment. It is your job to make sure that the sterilized tools are then organized into trays containing the instruments required for routine or special surgeries. You are also responsible for checking equipment to make sure it is in good repair and up to date. A caregiver in this role will work out of Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center and float across local Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
A caregiver in this position works a flexible schedule, Monday-Friday 10:00am – 6:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
Perform case pull functions.
Determine appropriate case carts to be built for specialty procedures.
Build case carts ensuring adherence to procedures.
Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical/clinical procedures.
Perform record keeping, ordering, stocking and inventory control.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas
A Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER)
Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing
Proficient in using computerized instrument tracking systems
Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Basic computer skills
Successful completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing
