Reporting directly or operationally into the VP, Clinical Operations, the role supports the broader coordination of efforts across teams to ensure impactful contributions to AI integration
Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical AI Technologies is responsible for translating clinical operation needs into AI-driven solutions to lead the strategy, implementation, and scaling of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that enhance the execution and performance of clinical trials. This role focuses on embedding AI into day-to-day Clinical Development Operations to improve study delivery, site performance, patient enrollment/engagement/retention, and data quality. As a leader within Clinical Development Operations, you will transform "AI potential" into "operational performance."
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, design and execute a roadmap/ framework for AI integration across Clinical Development Operations, prioritizing high impact areas
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases to improve trial execution (e.g., site activation, enrollment, monitoring, issue detection). Embed AI tools into core Clinical Operations workflows, ensuring they are user-friendly for Clinical Trial Managers (CTMs) and Clinical Research Associated (CRA)s.
- Define and track KPIs to measure the ROI of AI implementations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Clinical, Clinical science, IT, Quality, Regulatory, etc) to ensure alignment with AI solutions/ initiatives and integrate with existing programs
- Oversee vendor evaluation, selection, and management for AI-enabled clinical technologies including AI vendors and technology platforms. Manage these partnerships to ensure AI outputs are validated and actionable.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices for AI applications within clinical operations settings
- Drive adoption through training, change management, and stakeholder engagement
