Job Summary:
Performs a variety of duties relating to clinical information systems (CIS) applications. Supports projects related to the enhancement and system of CIS software and related processes. Seeks to optimize performance and utilization of CIS. Supports projects to support process improvement through the use of CIS. Serves as a subject-matter expert and makes discretionary and joint decisions using clinical judgment regarding clinical workflow and processes as they relate to CIS applications.

Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Nursing Informatics Board certification: Preferred
- Willing to pursue Board certification in Informatics from ANCC within 12 months of hire/transfer: Preferred
- Board Certification from ANCC in Informatics with other MSN discipline: Preferred
- Maintains ANCC Board Certification, Maintains home State licensure: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes resources to optimize complex clinical software utilizing established standards and departmental protocols. Works with customers to gather specifications for the purchase, development, and installation of clinical systems. Evaluates user requests for special enhancements to clinical systems and develop solutions.
- Assists in analyzing existing methods and developing alternatives to increase operations and production efficiency. Identifies potential process-specific risks and works collaboratively to develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them. Performs needs assessment for complex workflows, customers, and/or clinical areas.
- Researches, documents, and facilitates resolution to issues reported by end-users. Tests clinical software per checklist guidelines and develops test scenarios.
- Develops and follows project work plans. Leads and participates in user group meetings. Develops initiatives to support change management within impacted departments across the enterprise.
- Identifies potential areas where policies/procedures require development or change. Periodically assesses how users are progressing with their use of clinical applications and coordinate optimization training to further develop user proficiency, efficiency, and satisfaction.
