Brown & Brown has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Vice President for our Commercial Lines Construction team in Garden City, NY. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of 8, managing the renewal process for an assigned book of business, while also being responsible for day to day account management, client visits and oversight of the unit.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Build, expand and solidify relationships with clients by addressing the client’s needs, including the identification and resolution of underwriting or policy issues.
Build, expand and solidify relationships with carriers through regular communication and interaction on assigned accounts.
Manage Staff of at least 8
Manage the renewal process with the producer, account managers and assistant account managers for all assigned clients including reviewing loss information, providing assistance in obtaining updated information, handling renewal applications, remarketing, account rounding, reviewing and negotiating the renewal pricing as well as preparing the renewal proposal and binders.
Responsible for the day-to-day account management of client accounts, including but not limited to processing policies, endorsements, invoicing , certificates of insurance, premium breakdowns, auto ID cards, policy changes, review of policy forms, providing coverage comparisons, loss analysis and responding to coverage questions.
Documentation of conversations and information provided to and/or for clients in the Agency Management System
Participate in client visits, or meet with clients on an individual basis and complete insurance coverage reviews, when no producer is available.
Participate in Office meetings as scheduled/invited
Delegation of remarketing responsibilities to marketing where appropriate.
Communicate and share information with fellow Teammates in regards to coverage issues, market availability and market conditions.
Delegation of policy processing and support functions.
Support training, development and mentorship of team.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Strong technical knowledge of coverage in all commercial lines insurance coverage
7+ years construction commercial insurance experience
Active Property & Casualty Broker’s License
Insurance designation, strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000/year.
