The Sales Trainer is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of sales excellence, from onboarding new hires to the continuous professional development of the field sales team. This role bridges the gap between corporate strategy and field execution, ensuring the sales force is equipped with the technical product knowledge and selling skills necessary to drive business growth.

Area of Responsibility 1: Sales Force Training & Strategy

Objective: To promote a supportive learning environment that fosters knowledge transfer, targets core sales competencies, and operates within budgetary guidelines.

  • Needs Analysis: Identify skill gaps by analyzing sales reports, observing field performance, and consulting with sales leadership and field veterinarians.

  • Program Design: Partner with the Senior Sales Training Manager to develop and audit training materials aligned with global competencies and company standards.

  • Innovation: Research and implement emerging training platforms and interactive learning solutions to future-proof the department’s capabilities.

  • Content Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing to create impactful sales aids and "in-clinic" seminar materials.

  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the training budget, including delivery costs, material production, and travel expenses.

  • Incentive Management: Lead the Training Incentive Program (TIP), overseeing content strategy, platform engagement, and ROI analysis.

Area of Responsibility 2: New Hire Onboarding (NEVO)

Objective: To ensure all new sales representatives are "field-ready" through mastery of product knowledge, the PETS selling model, and corporate culture.

  • Onboarding Leadership: Act as the primary manager for new hires during their initial corporate training week, overseeing all logistics and scheduling.

  • Instructional Delivery: Lead training sessions on products, business policies, and systems using adult learning style principles.

  • Certification: Design and execute rigorous certification criteria to validate that new hires meet knowledge benchmarks before entering the field.

  • Mentorship Coordination: Partner with Area Sales Trainers (ASTs) to manage field assignments and provide coaching on trainee performance.

  • Adaptive Learning: Tailor knowledge transfer techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles, ensuring high retention across all cohorts.

Area of Responsibility 3: Continuous Sales Development

Objective: To elevate the long-term performance of the sales force through data-driven coaching and professional growth programs.

  • Performance Metrics: Regularly assess the sales force using standardized evaluation tools and individual KPIs.

  • Coaching & Feedback: Provide candid, actionable feedback to sales reps, focusing on both technical proficiency and behavioral strengths.

  • Curriculum Development: Build and execute advanced development programs that prepare high-potential reps for future leadership or specialized roles.

Area of Responsibility 4: Cross-Functional Partnership

Objective: To serve as a strategic liaison between Sales, Marketing, and HR.
