MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY LEADER

Position Description:
This position reports to the Mill Maintenance BUM and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of equipment and systems Reliability. Coordinate with department managers, area maintenance supervision and reliability core team members in developing and implementing reliability improvement processes. Generate appropriate procedures or practices that positively impact reliability. Execute projects as needed to support the work execution teams in the areas of equipment access or modifications. Monitor, track and meet maintenance budget for reliability metrics, including costs, labor, repairs, and contractor services. Properly develop maintenance plans that appropriately and economically optimize the life of the equipment. Achieve target performance goals for machine performance and efficiency. Enhance reliability metrics mill-wide. Ensure mill area integrated action plans on reliability elements are in place and executed. Provide training on areas such as lubrication, RCFA, and Preventive Maintenance.
Manage in a goal-oriented environment to deliver targeted results in the areas of Safety, Employee Engagement, and Reliability Excellence. Conduct 1-1s with employees to provide guidance and development goals.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate leadership in the area of safety; support broad based participation in the mill’s safety process.
- Continue to develop and nurture a team based organization committed to employee participation and team work, to ensure the success of the Newport Mill. Utilize CSA process to align Balance Scorecard initiatives to personal objectives.
- Maintain a focus on developing a strong reliability culture where a clear partnership exists between Maintenance, Operations and Engineering.
- Manage the area to achieve budget manufacturing costs, working and ensuring appropriate attention to cost issues and searching for new methods to allow cost reductions.
- Foster a culture that supports basic care and improved reliability with goals to reduce the number of reliability recordable and the average cost per reliability recordable. Demonstrated ability to focus on closing realizable gaps and obtain success.
- Set expectations and hold both teams and individuals accountable for results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Related Business Field required. A minimum of 8 years Pulp and Paper Industry experience, with at least 5 years in Maintenance or Maintenance Engineering is required. Demonstrated record of safety commitment and results; Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all level; Demonstrated leadership focused on accountability and results; and Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance functions.
