Senior Fullstack Engineer - Global Operations

We focus on redefining how customer support operates by building state-of-the-art tools and systems that empower our users and enhance their journey.</p> <p>The Full Stack Engineering team is at the heart of this mission, playing a pivotal role in designing and delivering scalable, secure, and intuitive features across both frontend and backend ecosystems. We work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and engineers across platforms (mobile, frontend, and backend)—to build innovative tools and experiences that simplify customer support and drive efficiency.</p> <p>This role is part of a well-established and collaborative team comprising a Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Designer, Android and iOS developers, Frontend engineers, and Backend engineers. As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll have the unique opportunity to contribute across the entire stack, ensuring seamless integration, robust functionality, and an outstanding user experience for merchants worldwide.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What you’ll do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain innovative features across both the frontend and backend to enhance the customer support funnel, delivering seamless and impactful user experiences</li> <li>Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement consistent APIs, WebSocket connections, and AI-powered functionality that integrates seamlessly across platforms</li> <li>Write clean, efficient, and scalable code for both user-facing interfaces and backend services, ensuring high performance and reliability</li> <li>Develop robust unit and integration tests to maintain the quality and stability of deliverables across the entire stack</li> <li>Implement tracking for analytics and configure A/B tests to assess feature success and drive informed decision-making</li> <li>Monitor system performance end-to-end, establish alerts, and proactively troubleshoot issues to maintain reliability and uptime</li> <li>Ensure consistency in design and functionality by aligning implementations with the overall product vision and standards</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>You’ll be great for this position if you</strong></p> <ul> <li>Have 5+ years of programming experience with TypeScript and Golang, building scalable and efficient applications</li> <li>Are proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs and working within a microservice environment</li> <li>Have hands-on experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL and event-driven architectures using tools such as Kafka</li> <li>Are comfortable working with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration</li> <li>Have experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for seamless integration and deployment processes</li> <li>Are familiar with monitoring and debugging tools such as Grafana, Honeycomb, and Sentry to ensure system reliability and performance</li> <li>Thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment where mutual empowerment and growth are core values</li> <li>Demonstrate high autonomy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and focus on impactful work</li> <li>Go beyond writing code by caring deeply about delivering value to merchants, embracing a product-focused mindset, and maintaining a proactive, can-do attitude</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Why you should join SumUp</strong></p> <ul> <li>Opportunity to work with SumUppers globally on large-scale fintech products used by millions of businesses worldwide, from our Berlin office.
