Job Description

The Senior Manager, Participation Setup and Process Analytics will oversee the design, review and execution of efficiency projects for the Financial Contract Administration and Reporting group (FCAR) at NBCUniversal, as well as interpret, set up and review Theatrical participation deals in the Participations and Residuals system (PARIS). Additionally, this role will support the financial modeling of Participation and Residual ultimates, and the Participation and Residuals budgeting process.

This individual will drive process enhancement and reporting efficiencies across the group in alignment with the objectives set forth by FCAR leadership.  This individual will lead efforts to develop risk assessment algorithms used for statement reporting audits, and work to identify/resolve workflow anomalies with the goal of accelerating processing speed and capacity.  This position will require a pro-active approach to problem solving, interest in programming (to assist in developing functionality with the in-house IT team), as well as excellent research, communication and follow through skills. This position also requires understanding of participations and residual agreements and related calculations

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work with IT and FCAR management to develop and track projects to enhance efficiency of the reconciliation/reporting/statement distribution processes
  • Develop strategy and timeline to build analytical capacity/functionality of the current reporting system, streamline statement distribution process, and build training programs to help adapt to new functionalities
  • Create and communicate metrics to ascertain success of projects as well analyze department efficiency
  • Lead process improvement directives and ensure new processes are aligned and in compliance with various stakeholders (legal affairs, business affairs, tax, IT, AP)
  • Liaise with IT to facilitate and track the implementation of short and long-term system enhancements
  • Perform contract analysis and interpretation as it relates to Theatrical participation reporting
  • Oversee statement set-up and review in participation reporting system.
  • Perform financial modeling, 3rd party share forecasts and analysis
  • Assist with budgeting and management of participation and residual payments
  • Liaise between Financial Contract Administration and Financial Contract Reporting
  • Provide a proactive approach to driving process improvements that increase efficiency and productivity

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Background with 5 to 10 years of participations, consumer products, accounting, or finance experience in the entertainment industry
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Advanced knowledge of source systems and participation systems/processes
  • Experience in working with IT in developing system enhancements
  • Experience in analyzing large amounts of data (using Pivot Tables/PowerPivot)
  • Understanding of legal agreements, especially as it pertains to participations
  • Proven track record of leadership, implementing and managing change
  • Excellent Communication Skills with customers as well as internal stakeholder
