This position is responsible for the provision of psychiatric assessment and treatment. Utilizing a collaborative approach, the psychologist will provide comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning. The psychologist will coordinate care with physicians, insurers and family/significant others as required or requested by the client. The psychologist is responsible for providing a range of therapeutic services. The psychologist is responsible for obtaining the appropriate authorizations and completing all associated documentation in a timely manner. The fully licensed psychologist will provide, when needed or required, consultation and supervision for Master level clinicians, interns and clinicians needing case consultation. The psychologist will oversee and/or provide psychological testing and will ensure the quality and clinical appropriateness of such testing.Employment Type: Part Time, 40 hours every 2 weeks
Schedule: Primarily days, some evenings required
Requirements: Ph.D/Ed.D in Clinical Area from an accredited program required, Michigan Psychologist License required, Internship or previous experience with the Behavioral Health population preferred
ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT:
- Provides accurate and thorough individualized assessments, treatment planning and individual, group and family therapy.
- DSM diagnoses are consistent with the presenting problem, history of problem, mental status exam and other assessment data.
- Reviews and modifies the treatment plan as needed and appropriate.
- Collaborates with BHS colleagues, outside care providers, family and others as needed to implement a successful and individualized plan of care.
- Provides psychological testing services, including the client interview, oversight of the test administration, analysis of test results and recommendations.
CLINICAL DOCUMENTATION:
- Documents assessment, education and treatment in a timely, accurate manner that is in compliance with regulatory requirements, policies and procedures.
CONSULTATION / CLINICAL SUPERVISION:
- Provides supervision/consultation to the clients and other program providers as requested and/or required.
- When indicated, cosigns supervised work in a timely manner.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:
- Supports quality improvement activities and philosophy.
- Participates in the analysis of quality data and development of an appropriate action plan.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
- Promptly completes provider applications to ensure credentialing by a wide variety of payers.
