About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU].
This position reports to the Manager, Asset Operations and is located at the Center for Advanced Technology (CAET) in Akron, Ohio 44313. The Supervisor, Asset Analytics and Management, is a position in the group that is responsible for supervising a team of employees charged with the monitoring, review, and management of the information/data associated with FE’s substation major equipment and its related health. The primary storage of the information is in Cascade (equipment management database), the Asset Performance Management (APM) application and supporting tools. This position will be responsible for all aspects of managing the APM application, monitoring the health of the transmission systems assets, developing data analytics to aid in identifying trends and predicting future performance, recommending reliability enhancement projects, assisting in the development of the capital portfolio for transmission and managing the transmission spare equipment plant.
This position is located in Fairlawn OH at the CAET facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
- Directing and developing staff responsible for FE’s transmission substation equipment health and performance information.
- Conducting applicant interviews, managing employees’ performance to achieve established objectives, conducting performance reviews with employees, and providing coaching on an ongoing basis.
- Understand and manage work according to business needs, departmental budget, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of substation equipment and related data in multiple databases, including those maintained by the Asset Management and Records Controls department.
- Proposing new solutions to improve Cascade and Asset Health data quality, accuracy, and standards to FE management.
- Provide APM application support to users.
- Recommending Asset replacement strategies and overseeing their implementation.
- Recommending Transmission Reliability Enhancement projects.
- Overseeing and supporting the capital portfolio development process for projects recommended by the AMRC department.
- Supervises the FE Transmission Spare Substation Equipment inventory.
- Work with the vendor and the IT department on APM functionality and upgrades.
- Engage with Utility Industry Experts and Peers on matters related to Asset Management, Asset Analytics, Equipment Life Cycles and Replacement Strategies.
- Setting priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinating work activities with other supervisors and/or managers.
- Encouraging open, honest, direct, and ongoing conversation amongst team members.
- Leading process improvement activities that increase productivity and enhance data quality.
- Analyzing complex issues and developing actionable recommendation; ensuring decisions impacting the team and FE Regional Management are based on data and sound reasoning.
- Provide training to the users in other departments on asset related topics, including APM data and systems functionality, development of process documents, and regional roles and responsibilities.
- Query datasets in multiple support systems (Cascade, APM, SAP, others) and modifying systems for proper data management and procedural controls.
- Supporting the Emergency Plan through participating in the assigned storm duties including hazard response and hazard dispatch activities.
