Position Title: Participant Services Support Staff- Part-time
Program: Growing Grounds Farm – Santa Maria
Position Summary
The Participant Services Support Staff provides office and administrative support to the Growing Grounds Farm and the farm’s employed community members facing mental health challenges in Santa Maria, Ca. The Growing Grounds Farm provides jobs, vocational training, and horticultural therapy to program participants while contributing to the working farm’s operations. If you have strong written and verbal communication skills, experience performing administrative tasks in an office setting, and are well organized, you may be a great fit for this position. General responsibilities include onboarding new client employees, supporting client employees in creating and meeting their recovery goals, promoting farm events, and disseminating informational materials on mental health resources within the community. The Participant Services Assistant Support Staff will also uphold and promote the organization’s philosophy in all duties performed.
Hours/ Salary
Part-time, non-exempt position. 20 Hours per week. Schedule: 9am-1pm M-F. Anticipated hiring range is $22.00-$23.00. Includes a generous individual benefits package that includes critical illness benefits, accident benefits, 403b retirement (with up to a 5% employer match) paid sick time and a variety of helpful employee perks as well. (*Full Salary Schedule $22.00-$24.00 per hour).

Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager, provide administrative support including corresponding with customer and clients, preparing and submitting reports and financial records, and maintaining and updating program outcomes.
2. Conduct transitional employee onboarding procedures including understanding and practicing TMHA’s Human Resources policies for interviewing, onboarding, separation of employment and conducting initial onboarding training with new hires.
3. Maintain data entry records to report program performance outcomes. Coordinate with Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager to deliver pre/post and annual surveys to transitional employees.
4. Support program effectiveness by meeting with key staff regularly and as needed to review program goals, identify challenges, and utilize continuous improvement principles that increase program quality.
5. Maintain and promote educational materials on mental health for transitional employees and community members who visit the Farm.
6. Assists in maintaining a professional office environment, including personal work areas, kitchen, and office appearance.
7. In conjunction with the Assistant Program Manager, performs monthly safety drills and completes the monthly site safety checklist.
8. Promote, encourage and maintain trauma-informed practices in all services and activities. Practice and promote, individually and in team meetings, TMHA’s Collaborative Communication Guidelines to facilitate clear, empathetic and person-centered communication.
