Purpose of Role: The Continuous Improvement Specialist is responsible for coordinating the Lean and Process Improvement initiatives for Weir Minerals and assists with managing budgets, schedules, and deliverables for these initiatives in accordance with company policies and procedures. Primary processes include, but are not limited to, inventory turns, lead times, cycle times, on time delivery, labor productivity, value stream mapping, and training tracking associated with Lean Advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Focus Area: Lead the deployment of Lean/Process Improvement initiatives for the business, including value streams, improved flow, TPM, 5S, visual factory, SMED, Kanban and other Lean methodologies.
- Focus Area: Demonstrate continuous improvement across the organization, with a waste elimination mantra, while managing COI processes and data bases.
- Focus Area: Establish and achieve manufacturing plans and delivery to customer commitments using contracted resources as well as internal resources.
- Focus Area: Analyze and introduce leading edge solutions to improve performance and support the implementation and enhancement of leading edge solutions and improvements as well as other business initiatives.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Industrial Engineering
- 2-5 years of relative experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Travel – 10-15% in the US and Canada
