The tax department has the overall responsibility for the Husqvarna Group’s North American (“NA”) tax operations, including oversight and administration of income, franchise, property, and sales and use tax compliance and planning as well as unclaimed property compliance. The Tax Supervisor is responsible for the tax accounting staff and working with the Sr Tax Director on the tax planning, provision, reporting, and compliance functions. The position provides advice and guidance to multiple corporations on tax implications of business transactions. The position manages tax and compliance payments.
What You Need to Know:
- Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of consolidated company federal and consolidated-separate state tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of tax forms for multiple corporations.
- Manage Property Tax Return preparation, timely filing, and payment.
- Manage Unclaimed Property.
- Manage NMTC reporting.
- Coordinates with multiple business entities to gather relevant financial information.
- Review and evaluate financial information for tax sensitive items.
- Review current processes and help to develop methods to streamline and improve department efficiency.
- Research tax regulations to ensure correct tax treatment and compliance and present finding to include business impact.
- Manage and train new staff.
- Review staff assignments for accuracy and completeness. Set staff expectations and monitor staff performance.
- Administrator for FAS software to include ensuring updates are posted and access is reviewed yearly.
- Performs various projects as assigned by Sr. Director of Tax.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- Four (4) or more years of experience in the tax field
- Knowledge of MS Office Software applications, including Excel. Must exhibit strong Excel skills.
- 4+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Knowledge and experience with sales tax return software preferred
