A day in the life

As a Senior Property Accountant on our Property Accounting Centralized (PAC) team in our downtown Denver office, you will be responsible for all aspects of centralized accounting functions including allocations, bad debt, sales tax, direct bills, acquisitions and dispositions, and general ledger (GL) reclasses. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial records and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, contributing to our business's financial success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and review key financial activities including bad debt, allocations, sales tax, and acquisition/disposition accounting for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the cleanup and resolution of outstanding balances related to direct bills, GL accounts receivable (GLAR), and GL security deposits (GLSD).
  • Understand all processes related to the team’s tasks and work to identify and improve communication and processes across the accounting teams.
  • Conduct and review Blackline account reconciliations prepared by the team.
  • Help prepare and/or review mid-year and annual cam reconciliations.
  • Participate in SOX testing on a rotating basis to contribute to internal control compliance as a company.
  • Actively participate in at least one project, contributing to significant initiatives and demonstrating collaborative and individual proficiencies.
  • Coordinate trainings for property accountants and answer questions to facilitate internal growth within property accounting. 
  • Other tasks as necessary.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and property accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills in routine and complex tasks assigned in order to make significant contributions to critical projects and objectives of team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, across all levels of the organization.
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely financial data.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service across organization timely and consistently.  Ensures team does the same.

Hiring Salary Range of: $88k-$108k. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
