About the role

Description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Duties include processing payroll, comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures to remain current, drafting templates for HR documents, and working with other members of the department to complete the hiring and onboarding process for company employees.


Responsibilities: 

· Emulate SSB&T Core Values

· Process, review, balance, and audit payroll

· Reconcile all payroll activity, ensure government reporting is filed quarterly and annually

· Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding

· Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring accurate and timely enrollment, updates, and communication

· Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations

· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, staying current with updates and changes; respond to all HR inquiries from government agencies

· Maintain and update employee records, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of all data

· Collaborate with HR and management teams to assist with the development and implement HR policies, procedures, and initiatives

· Provide HR support and guidance to employees and managers, fostering a positive workplace culture with employee engagement

· Conduct regular audits of HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and optimization

· Submit and process annual reviews for all employees as required

· Conduct New Hire Orientation presentations

· Maintain HRIS system including compliance and security

· Support SSB&T community events and outreach efforts

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

· Associate’s Degree in related field preferred. High School diploma or GED required

· 2 years of human resources or payroll experience preferred

· Experience using a human resources information system (HRIS) is preferred

· Great communication skills required; must be able to speak in front of people

· Attention to detail, multitasking and time management skills

· Must have experience in Microsoft Office Suite
