Drilling Engineering Lead - Sperry Drilling

Halliburton is one of the pioneers in Drilling Engineering and has participated in the development of the Norwegian continental shelf hydrocarbon resources since the first test well in 1966.
In order the strengthen our engineering organization, we are looking for an experienced Drilling Engineering Lead to take leadership responsibility of a large and diverse group of Drilling Technical Advisors.
We are looking for motivated personnel to take on this challenge where the ability to effectively communicate and facilitate technical dialogue both internally and externally is a key requirement.

Job description:
This is a diverse role where the day-to-day management of the team needs to be balanced with providing best in class technical support and leadership to ensure a trajectory of continuous improvement over the lifecycle of well planning to execution.
The main tasks are:
- Support the Drilling Technical Advisors in their day-to-day job roles to ensure we are delivering technical excellence in the Design of Service process and post well follow-up
- Demonstrate technical leadership skills and ensure the teams operates as a cohesive unit that’s geared towards technical excellence while maintaining an enjoyable work culture.
- Ensure each employee has an up-to-date development plan and that they are put through the applicable training to develop their competency profile
- Investigate downhole failures, derive corrective actions and implement to improve job execution.
- Review and approve the Design of Service and ensure compliance within our reporting systems
- Identify applications for new technology to deliver value to our customers
- Assists in publishing commercial and technical successes.
- Develops and maintains personal relationships with the technical customer base.
- Provides recommendations on equipment capabilities and advises customers and field personnel on technical complexity and operation.
- Present and communicate both internally and externally on Directional Drilling Technology, Technical Solutions Profiles and Design of Service.
- Demonstrate subject mastery in bottom hole assembly design and engineering, drillstring integrity, hydraulics management and drilling performance workflows.

Qualifications:
- 5+ years as a Directional Technical Advisor or an equivalent customer facing position where being deployed “in-house” will be an advantage.
- 5+ years in a technical leadership role with organization accountability
